Wonderful show, with a full green carpeted ring area, really set the venue apart for a class event. Well organised, top class venue, well light, and cool, so important for the dogs. First day saw the Terrier Group and the Working/Pastoral Group being Judged,some top class specimens presented themselves for assessment the winner of the Terrier Group was the Wire Fox Terrier ,Travella Special Feature, Owned by Mr.J.Schembri, and exported from the UK by Bill Browne Cole. Runner up to the wire was very good West Highland White Terrier,Bonnie Fenella String Of Pearls,owned by Mrs.W.Grech. The Working/Pastoral group had some strong breeds, GSDs,  Boxers, Rottweilers. Winner coming from the BOB Rottweiler, CH.Deniro Pied Piper, owned by Mr.&MrsSciberras. Outstanding male, could win anywhere in Europe. Very good breed type and static balance correct, and so sound in his movement. Runner up was an outstanding male Boxer CH.Woodstock Johnny Bravo ,owned by Messrs Galea & Zammit, could do some useful winning in main land Europe. Best Terrier Puppy, Dazmarnic Maltese Falcon,(sbt) owned by Mr.A.Mallia, Runner up was a WHWT, Dagostinowesties Penny Bianca. Best Working/Pastoral Puppy,Woodstock Rio Cid Rock (boxer) owned by Mr Galea.Runner up was an Alaskan Malamute,Equinox Woodvram Polarni Usvit,owned by Mr & Mrs Bebbiano (UK)

Sunday, it was the turn of the Hounds,Utility,Toys and Gundogs & Best in Show. Hound group strongest breeds, Whippets, Dachshunds, Bassets. Winner of the hound Group was the Whippet, CH.Aurora Ruby Tuesday At Chebec, owned by Mr.S.Mercieca. Runner up was Beagle, Beagle Di Fonte Posca,owned by Mr.N.Borg. The Utility Group was next,strongest in this group, Shiba Inu, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Keeshond. Utility Group Winner the Japanese Shiba Inu, Landwood Jiltrain We Will Rock You. The runner up,the French Bulldog,CH.Fendie De La Parure, owners Mr.& Mrs.Vella. The Gundog Group was next the strongest breeds were the Pointers, Cockers. Winner of the Gundog group was the male Pointer Sh.CH.Pipeway Black Jake owned by Dr.J.Galea. Runner up was the Cocker Spaniel Sh.ChCanyonn Classic Dreams At Framoid,  owned by Mr.& MrsBorg. Both the  Pointer and the Cocker could do some serious winning on mainland Europe. Last Group to be assessed was the Toy Group. Strongest breeds were the Pekingese,Chihuahua’s and the Pugs. Very strong entry of Pugs & Pekes. For the winner of this group I selected the Pekingese, Livanda Giovanni ,owned by Ms. D.Sant Fournier. The runner up was the Smooth Coat Chihuahua Int/Malta Ch.Widogi Rocket Man, owned by Mr & Mrs.S.Young. Both these winners were off the highest breed quality and so sound, well presented. Sunday Group Puppy winners and runners up as follows: Hound Puppy’s,the winner was the well handled Whippet,Barkun Kira owned by Mr.W.Chetcuti,with the runner up Dachshund Wire Haired Daikiki Del Val Vezzeno, owned byMr.& Mrs.J.Mifsud. Utility Puppy Winner was the Shiba Inu who won the Utility group. The runner up was the French Bulldog, Der Mickleover Hugo Boss Owned by Mr & Mrs Vella. Gundog Puppy the Winner The Pointer Bitch, Isoria Haley, owned by Mr.L.Micallef. The runner up was the Cocker, Dalmasca Caribbean Beauty,owned by Mr.C.Agius. Last group the Toy Puppy’s won by a fabulous Pug Bitch Debdies’ She’s Got The Look. Runner up was a Smooth Coat Chihuahua,Taxibixi August Rush, Owned by Mr & Mrs.S.Young.

Best In Show, after a final assessment of all six group winners I selected the Pointer Sh.Ch.Pipeway Black Jake as the overall winner. Excels in static balance and breed type. Very good head, clean neck enough depth and spring of rib. Muscular rear, strong hocks and very good second thighs. Firm legs on very good feet, pleasure to go over.

Reserve Best In show ,Wire fox Terrier, Schembri’s Travella Special Feature, top class wire, so sound,best of heads and necks, good planes,strong clean foreface, correct ears, good spring of rib, hard backline and croup, tail on top, muscular rear, low set hocks. Well presented.

Best Puppy in Show - Winner of this award was the stunning Pug, Debdies She’s Got The Look. So sound in her stance and movement, correct foreface, very good legs and feet good angulation, strong rear, firm backline and croup. Good to go over

Reserve Best Puppy was The whippet Barkun Kira,wel handled by the best Junior Handler in Show, shown in top condition, lovely head, underline very good strong rear,s ound movement

 
The WINNER of the Junior Handling was Miss Christabelle Chetcuti  of Barkun Whippet Fame,a very competent handler always at the right pace with her charges, look so comfortable with her dogs.
